My Story
A little about me...
So where to start? I could go on about how photography was always a big part of my life growing up and that I always knew I wanted to become a photographer, but that wouldn’t be completely true.
Yes photography has be around during my childhood, my parent always took photos of us, my Father’s, Father was a garden photographer enthusiast but if you had asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, you probably would have been met with an answer like, a hairdresser or a nurse and most memorably, a mummy! My love for family and babies has ALWAYS been there.
In 2010 my partner and I were expecting our first baby, a little boy who we name Joshua. Though our journey as parents was short lived, I didn’t realise how much you could love someone so tiny before you had even met them, that love grew even more when we got to see him for the first time.
It was losing our son that enabled me to hear my calling as a photographer, though I didn’t know how that looked at the time. All I knew was that I wanted to offer something special to parents that they could cherish for a life time and never feel,” I don’t have enough photos”, or “I wish I had done this”, “I wish I had done that”. There is nothing worse than regretting not doing something that you can’t go back and change.
So in 2011 I bought my first camera, I had no idea what I was doing, but my passion for what I wanted to offer kept me going strong through the most heart breaking time of my life. I practiced with friends and their children, being told “you have such a natural talent” gave me more motivation to carry on going even through the dark days. Thus Rebecca’s Picture Perfect Photography was created. I dabbled in child portraits, birthday parties, weddings, family sessions, a fashion show and may more opportunities.
As the years went by I started to feel that I got the most fulfilment from the new born sessions I had.
So in 2014 I re-created myself and set up Rebecca Anne Photography in Joshua’s memory. He was and is my muse and my reason for doing what I do.
And here we are now, I have met many families since that come back again and again, from having their new born photos, to cake smashes, family sessions and on the odd occasion some families come back and ask me to photography their wedding. One family asked 3 times begging me to do their wedding, how could I so no. What it privilege it was to be wanted so much.
This is what I strive for, to build a special bond with you that you will want to come back again and again. To give you that feeling that makes you and your baby/children feel special, that just sheer though of booking another session with me makes you smile with excitement. I want you to feel special and walk away with a memorable experience and beautiful images that will bring joy to your home.
